Resides: San Diego, Calif., where she is attending UCSD Medical School as a first-year medical student. Her parents continue to work in the South Bay, and her brother, Carl Marrone ’02, is studying criminology at the University of Maryland. Degrees: B.A. in the biological sciences from Claremont Mckenna College. After graduating, she taught middle school science through a program called Teach for America and conducted molecular microbiology research at UCLA. Favorite Chadwick Memory: “Starring as the lead in the fall musical, 'She Loves Me,' my senior year in the good old 'Aud.' It was an honor to work with such talented actors and professional educators in the arts. I also value many of my memories from performing in the Rainbow Connection. It fostered a commitment to service that has underscored many of my proceeding endeavors.” Advice for Current Chadwick Students: “Appreciate the unique, exceptional education that Chadwick offers. Opportunities for leadership and growth abound in Chadwick’s academic, extra-curricular and athletic programs. The well-rounded liberal arts education at Chadwick is invaluable, and I assure you that the hard work and commitment to excellence will give you a strong foundation for your future pursuits. Also, go on the senior trip! If I could do it, you can too. It’s worth it.” Lasting Chadwick Lesson: "By believing in yourself in the face of challenges, you can accomplish exceptional feats." Favorite Class: “U.S History A.P., American Literature A.P. and Pre-Calculus Honors with Dan Place, Karen Stevens and Bill Park, respectively. These teachers are phenomenal educators that advocate for students and foster the ability to think critically and independently. I thank them for maintaining their high expectations and confidence in our abilities. And yes, Mr. Place, I did use the Chadwick Term Paper Guide to cite my references in college.” Favorite Activities: Musical theater, dance, Rainbow Connection and Amnesty International Click here for a print-friendly version of this page. |
